DODGERS RECALL CHUCKIE ROBINSON

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled catcher Chuckie Robinson and placed catcher Will Smith on the injured list with a right-hand contusion, retroactive to September 10.

Robinson, 30, rejoins the Dodgers after being optioned on Monday. He played in 48 games for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets, batting .254 with four homers and 28 RBI. He made his Major League debut in 2022 with the Cincinnati Reds, playing 25 games and clubbing two homers and driving in five. He has been in the Majors parts of two seasons with the Reds and Chicago White Sox (2024), slashing .132/.170/.194 with two doubles and two homers. He has a .992 fielding percentage and is 12-for-48 in runners caught stealing. He was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in 21st round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Southern Mississippi.

Smith, 30, heads to the injured list for the first time this season. He has played in 110 games this year, batting .296 with 17 homers and 61 RBI. He has been with the Dodgers seven seasons, slashing .264/.358/.476 with 128 homers and 442 RBI. The three-time All-Star made his Major League debut in 2019, clubbing 15 homers in 54 games. He was drafted by the Dodgers in the first round (32nd overall) of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Louisville.
