Dodgers Activate Tyler Glasnow

DODGERS ACTIVATE TYLER GLASNOW

LOS ANGELES The Los Angeles Dodgers activated right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow and optioned right-handed pitcher Alexis Díaz. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers placed right-handed pitcher Michael Kopech on the 60-day injured list.

Glasnow, 31, has been out since April 28 with right shoulder inflammation. Prior to hitting the IL, he made five starts, going 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA in 18 innings. He made three rehab starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City, allowing eight earned runs in 8.2 innings with 12 strikeouts. In two seasons with the Dodgers, he is 10-6 with a 3.61 ERA in 27 starts. He is in his 10th season, and he is a combined 40-33 with a 3.83 ERA in 154 career games. The Southern California native was drafted by the Pirates in the fifth round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft out of Hart High School.

Díaz, 28, was recalled yesterday but did not appear in the contest. He was acquired on May 29 from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for minor league pitcher Mike Villani. He made six appearances for Oklahoma City, going 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA and three strikeouts in 4.2 innings. He was 0-0 with a 12.00 ERA in six games for the Reds this year. He was a National League All-Star in 2023, going 9-6 with a 3.07 ERA with 37 saves in a career-high 71 games. He is in his fourth Major League season, and he is 75-for-86 in save opportunities with a 3.21 ERA in 196 games. He was drafted by the Reds in the 12th round of the 2015 First Year Player Draft out of Juan Jose Maunez High School (Puerto Rico).
