DODGERS ACTIVATE KIRBY YATES

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated right-handed pitcher Kirby Yates from the injured list and placed left-handed pitcher Blake Snell on the paternity list.

Yates, 38, has been on the injured list since July 29 with low back pain. He made one rehab appearance, tossing a scoreless inning with one strikeout on Tuesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He is 4-3 with a 4.31 ERA in 39 games for the Dodgers. In 461 career games with the Tampa Bay Rays (2014-15), New York Yankees (2016), Los Angeles Angels (2017), San Diego Padres (2017-20), Atlanta Braves (2022-23), Texas Rangers (2024) and Dodgers (2025), he is 30-24 with 98 saves and 615 strikeouts in 442.2 innings. The Hawaii native was signed by the Rays as an undrafted free agent on June 22, 2009.

Snell, 32, pitched seven innings last night, allowing two runs on six hits in a losing effort. He is 3-2 with a 1.97 ERA in six starts this season. In his career, he has a 79-60 record with a 3.16 ERA and 1,398 strikeouts in 10 seasons with the Rays (2016-20), Padres (2021-23), San Francisco Giants (2024) and Dodgers (2025). He was drafted by the Rays in the 2011 First Year Player Draft out of Shorewood High School (Wa.)
