Born on Sept. 17, 1998, in Massillon, Ohio...attended Jackson High School where he played baseball, basketball and football...led Jackson to state championships in both basketball and baseball his senior year...enrolled at Ohio State University where he played college baseball...was selected 38th overall by the Detroit Tigers in 2020 First-Year Player Draft.

2024

Spent most of the 2024 season with Triple-A Toledo, before being called up for his Major League debut in late July...hit .308/.379/.559 with 15 doubles, 17 home runs and 52 RBI in 71 games with the Mud Hens, while he batted .167/.195/.310 with five doubles, two triples, one home run and 11 RBI in 27 games with Detroit...Made his Major League debut on July 29 vs. Cleveland, starting at catcher and going 1-for-3 with a double and a RBI...recorded his first big league hit and RBI with a double in the seventh off Tanner Bibee...became the first Tiger to record an extra-base hit and run batted in his Major League debut since Akil Baddoo on April 4, 2021 vs. Cleveland...became the first Tiger to reach base safely multiple times in his debut since Ryan Kreidler on Sept. 2, 2022...Launched the first home run of his career on August 11 at San Francisco, hitting a two-run shot in the second inning off Hayden Birdsong...finished the game 2x4 with a double, a homer and two RBI, recording his first career multi-hit and multi-RBI game...Recorded his second career multi-hit, multi-RBI game on Sept. 21 at Baltimore, going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI...Was on the Tigers' postseason roster for the Wild Card and Division Series rounds, but did not appear in a game.

Limited to 89 games between Single A Lakeland, Double A Erie and Triple A Toledo in 2023 due to two separate stints on the injured list... Named a Tigers Organization All-Star by MiLB.com... Sidelined from April 6-30 while recovering from right knee surgery... Homered in five consecutive games with Single A Lakeland and Double A Erie from April 27-May 3... On the injured list from July 15-Aug. 7 with a right elbow strain... Ranked as the No. 9 prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America following the season...also rated as the best defensive catcher in the Tigers Minor League system. 

2022

Played in 107 games with Double A Erie in 2022, spending the entire season with the SeaWolves... Homered and drove in three runs in back-to-back games on June 29-30 vs. Akron... On the injured list from Sept. 6-29 with a right shoulder strain... Appeared in four games with Salt River in the Arizona Fall League, going 4x5 with a run scored and two RBI... Ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America following the season...also rated as the best defensive catcher in the Tigers Minor League system.

2021

Saw his first professional action in 2021, playing in 85 games between Single A Lakeland, Single A West Michigan and Double A Erie...Named High A Central Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending June 6 after batting .500/.577/.955 with four doubles, two home runs and eight RBI in six games...Appeared in 24 games between West Michigan and Erie in June, hitting .326/.379/.587 with six doubles, three triples, four home runs and 21 RBI...Sidelined from Aug. 6-Sept. 2 with a left index finger contusion...Rated as the No. 7 prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America.

2020

Spent the 2020 season as the Tigers Alternate Training Site in Toledo...Ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America.

2019

Played collegiately at The Ohio State University, where he earned second team All-Big Ten honors in 2019 and was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2018.
