Carson James Palmquist...Son of Chris and Cindy...One older brother, Cody...Majored in sports administration at the University of Miami and plans to finish his degree after baseball...Cody was selected by Texas in the 30th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft and played four Minor League seasons (2014-18)...He now works as a firefighter...As a freshman at Miami, led the ACC and ranked third in Division 1 with 14 saves...His 14 saves tied him for the 10th-most in a single season in Miami history...Named a 2021 First-Team All-American by Perfect Game and NCBWA...Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America and ABCA/Rawlings Second-Team All-American...Was a reliever his first two seasons at Miami (2020-21) before making 16 starts as a junior in 2022...Did not allow an earned run through his junior and senior seasons at Riverdale (Fla.) High School...Also lettered twice in basketball...He has an Australian Shepherd named Cruz...His sports hero growing up was Kobe Bryant and his favorite athlete is Joe Burrow...His favorite baseball memory is logging 13 strikeouts in a single game (with Double-A Hartford on July 5, 2024).

Made 27 starts between Double-A Hartford (18) and Triple-A Albuquerque (nine), posting a 3.98 ERA (117.2 IP, 52 ER) with 60 walks and a career-high 144 strikeouts...His 144 strikeouts and 11.01 strikeouts-per-nine-innings were the second-most by a Rockies Minor League pitcher behind Chase Dollander (169, 12.69)...Recorded seven quality starts, six for the Yard Goats and one for the Isotopes...Finished in the top five for Double-A Hartford in strikeouts (113, first), wins (six, second), games started (18, fourth) and innings pitched (82.1, fourth)...Went 6-4 with a 3.17 ERA (82.1 IP, 29 ER) in his 18 starts for the Yard Goats...Recorded four outings of at least 10 strikeouts for the Yard Goats, including a single-game franchise record 13 strikeouts over seven scoreless innings on July 5...Won Eastern League pitcher of the week July 1-7 due to that performance...Promoted to Albuquerque on Aug. 3...Went 1-4 with a 5.86 ERA (35.1 IP, 23 ER), 27 walks and 31 strikeouts in nine starts for the Isotopes.

Between High-A Spokane (15 starts) and Double-A Hartford (four starts), finished the season 7-4 with a 3.90 ERA (92.1 IP, 40 ER) in 19 starts...Finished tied for eighth in the Northwest League with 106 strikeouts … totaled 134 strikeouts across both levels...Recorded four 10-strikeout games with Spokane: June 12, June 29, July 29 and Aug. 12...Spun eight quality starts, allowing one or fewer earned runs in six of those games...Tossed six or more frames and allowed two or fewer earned runs in five of his final six starts of the season.

In his first professional season, made one appearance for the ACL Rockies, walking two and fanning one through one inning.
