What’s Happening This Weekend at Citizens Bank Park: Phillies vs. Braves, August 28-31

Come join the fun as the Phillies return home for a four-game series against their division rival, the Atlanta Braves. Here’s a look at some of the fan highlights surrounding this weekend’s games at Citizens Bank Park:

1. Be at Citizens Bank Park for Star Wars™ Night on Thursday, August 28, during the 6:45 p.m. game! Gate openings: 3B/LF – 4:45 p.m.; all other gates 5:15 p.m.

  • Be on the lookout pregame for Star Wars™ characters all around the ballpark, including the entrance gates, Yard and First Base elevator lobby.
  • Plus, stop by the Star Wars™ photo booth at the break behind Section 210 on the Pavilion Level.
  • Phillies Star Wars merchandise will also be available at the New Era Phillies Team Store, including t-shirts, magnets, pennant, lanyard and pin.
  • At the end of the 3rd inning, Edward O’Donnell will be honored as that night’s Hometown Hero presented by Toyota.

2. Lights Up // Friday Night at the Bank at the 6:45 p.m. game on August 29! Gate openings: 3B/LF – 4:45 p.m.; all other gates 5:15 p.m.

  • As part of Miller Lite Friday, Miller Lite 12 oz. cans will be available at Miller Lite Liberty Landing for a discounted price of $6.99.
  • In addition, Jim Beam will be sampling their -196 seltzers at their Skyline Bar behind Section 317, as well as on Saturday.
  • Local hero Caseem Wongus, who saved a 9-year-old boy during the Northeast Philadelphia plane crash, will throw a ceremonial first pitch. Also making a ceremonial first pitch will be 76ers 2025 draft pick VJ Edgecombe.
  • Bill Hutchinson on behalf of Philadelphia Water Ice will make a $10,000 check presentation to Phillies Charities, Inc. In addition, Mary and Chuck Bangle from Manco & Manco Pizza will make a $15,000 check presentation.
  • At the end of the 3rd inning, Al Jacobson will be honored as that night’s Hometown Hero presented by Toyota.

3. The series continues Saturday, August 30, with the 6:05 p.m. game, featuring a Chick-fil-A Bryce Harper Funko Pop! Collectible giveaway for children 14 & under. Prior to the game, Phillies pitcher Jesús Luzardo will host his inaugural Luzardo’s Cheesesteaks for Charity to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Citizens Bank Way. Gate openings: 3B/LF – 3:35 p.m.; all other gates 4:35 p.m.

  • Fans will be able to get a mini cheesesteak with a $15 minimum donation per person to the cause. Luzardo will also be making an appearance to thank fans for their support from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Cheesesteaks will be provided (while supplies last) by the popular Philip’s Steaks from South Philadelphia, with DJ Hollywood on hand to provide the music.   • Fans can enjoy the pregame Budweiser Block Party with DJ HBK at the Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar behind Section 148.
  • Chick-fil-A owner/operator Gene Ontjes, who is celebrating 51 years of service, will make a ceremonial first pitch. He will be escorted by the Chick-fil-A Cow.
  • Designated hitter Kyle Schwarber will be recognized on-field as the Phillies’ winner of the MLBPA Heart & Hustle Award.
  • The area’s top young sluggers who were winners of the Phillies Home Run Derby championship, held earlier that morning at Citizens Bank Park, will also be honored on-field.

4. The Phillies will close out the homestand on Sunday, August 31, with a 7:10 p.m. game on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. All fans will receive a Sustainable Phillies Cap presented by PGW. Gate openings: 3B/LF – 4:40 p.m.; all other gates 5:40 p.m.

  • Fans can enjoy complimentary face painting at The Yard before and during the game.
  • From 5:30 until 7:00 p.m., Jack Fritz, host/producer of the SportsRadio 94WIP Afternoon Show with Ike, Spike & Fritz, will be signing copies of his book Ring The Bell: How the Philadelphia Phillies Built Baseball’s Best Fan Base at the Phillies Authentics Shop (main concourse behind section 134).
  • 2025 Baseball Hall of Famer and former Phillie Billy Wagner will throw that night’s ceremonial first pitch, with Phillies Managing Partner and CEO John Middleton presenting a special gift.

5. Fans are invited to bid on team-issued and game-used autographed memorabilia items as part of the Phillies Charities Online Auction to benefit the Pennsylvania SPCA until 6:00 p.m. on August 31, at phillies.com/auctions.

  • Features signed memorabilia from Phillies players including Alec Bohm, Nick Castellanos, Bryce Harper, Brandon Marsh, J.T. Realmuto, Cristopher Sánchez, Kyle Schwarber, Edmundo Sosa, Bryson Stott, Ranger Suárez, Trea Turner and Zack Wheeler.
