Ace Aaron Nola raises $225K at inaugural poker tournament to benefit Team RWB
What a great event to benefit our nation's veterans!
On Thursday, May 15, Aaron and Hunter Nola hosted a new charity poker tournament to support the efforts of Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), a leading organization for veterans and service members seeking improved physical or mental health.
Held on the Phillies' off-day, the star-studded event was held in the CP Rankin Club, which was turned into a dazzling poker room at Citizens Bank Park. Taking part in the poker play were many of Aaron's teammates and their significant others, as well as coaching staff, alumni and broadcasters, along with fans and sponsors, who all joined the fun to raise money to support the health and wellness of veterans.
Phillies broadcaster Gregg Murphy emceed the event, introducing Aaron and Hunter Nola, who gave a heartwarming welcome, thanking all for attending. Founder and Executive Director of Team RWB Mike Erwin also spoke to the crowd, speaking passionately about the importance of the cause as well as Aaron and Hunter's commitment to helping veterans.
In addition to poker, the tournament also featured a silent and live auction, with the highest bid going towards the Owner's Suite, donated by Phillies Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer John Middleton.
The Celebrity Poker Tournament raised a phenomenal $225,000 for Team RWB, with the Nola's ultimately generating more than $600,000 for the health and wellness of veterans since 2023.
