SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today announced a new broadcast distribution agreement to televise 10 Padres regular season Saturday games on CBS 8 (KFMB) and the CW for free, over-the air through the 2026 season. A minimum of seven games will be simulcast (simultaneously transmitted) on CBS 8 and the remaining games will air on the CW, allowing fans in the Padres’ market the opportunity to watch select game broadcasts free of charge. Fans can also watch the team on Padres TV all season long unless the game has been selected for a national broadcast.
The first simulcast on CBS 8 will be the Padres vs. Tampa Bay Rays game on Saturday, April 26, with the remaining games scheduled to air on either CBS 8 or the CW. If one of the designated games is selected for a national broadcast, the Padres and KFMB will replace the simulcast with another Saturday game that will air on either CBS 8 or the CW. The Padres Pre and Post-Game shows will also be included in these broadcasts.
“We are pleased to make our exciting Padres team and games available over the air to more households than ever before through our partnership with TEGNA’s KFMB,” said Padres CEO Erik Greupner. “As Padres fans continue to evolve in how they consume live sports content, this partnership allows us to make our game broadcasts accessible to even more Padres fans.”
“We’re thrilled to bring the Padres home to all San Diegans during the 2025 and 2026 seasons,” said Alberto Mier y Teran, President and General Manager, KFMB. “This is a unique opportunity and we’re proud to be the broadcast home of Padres baseball and are excited to share these games with our city.”
Padres games will continue to be televised in tandem with Major League Baseball on Padres TV in both English and Spanish throughout the regular season unless selected for a national broadcast. Fans that utilize a streaming provider will have continued access to Padres games without blackouts (subject to national exclusives) through their direct-to-consumer streaming subscription.
