Comunidad Awards

The San Diego Padres are seeking nominations for the 2025, 15th annual Comunidad Awards. This award recognizes and pays tribute to individuals or organizations whose work has made a positive impact on those who live and work in San Diego's Hispanic community. One nominee will be selected from each of the five categories: LIVE (health & mentorship), LEARN (education), PLAY (recreation), and SERVE (volunteerism, military, and first responders) and TIJUANA/ BAJA.

The Padres Hispanic Community Advisory Committee will be selecting one winner in each category (five total). The Padres Foundation will make a $5,000 donation to the associated local non-profit organization in the name of each award recipient ($25,000 total). The winners will be announced and recognized on September 26 during Hispanic Heritage Weekend during a pregame ceremony at Petco Park.

Congratulations to the 2024 recipients and charitable organizations who received $5,000 from the Padres Foundation in their honor including Laura Diaz (donation benefitting Leukemia & Lymphoma Society), David Valladolid (donation benefitting Parent Institute for Quality Education - PIQE), Roberto Pozos (donation benefitting Chicano Park), Lisette Islas (donation benefitting Lifeline Community Services), Sister Armida Andrade (donation benefitting Casa de Los Pobres).
