USA Softball is back on top at the World Games.

After a pair of hard-fought wins on Sunday at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, USA Softball won its fourth consecutive World Games gold medal.

USA Softball first defeated Japan, 7-6, in 10 innings before taking down Chinese Taipei, 5-0, in the gold medal game. In both contests and throughout the event, a handful of Athletes Unlimited Softball League stars played crucial roles.

Pitcher Megan Faraimo, who pitched for the AUSL champion Talons during the leagueโ€™s inaugural season in 2025, tossed a shutout in the gold medal game, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out 10. Talons teammate Sahvanna Jaquish homered to back Faraimo, as did Bandits star Skylar Wallace.

Wallace was instrumental in USA Softball's 5-0 week at the World Games, which began Wednesday. She slugged a grand slam in an 8-1 run-rule win over China on Friday, setting up the semifinal matchup with Japan.

It took three extra innings for the U.S. to outlast Japan and reach the gold medal game, but Tiare Jennings came up clutch with a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th. A star for the Volts of the AUSL, Jennings drove in three runs in the semifinal contest and was named the World Games MVP.

After USA Softballโ€™s exciting World Games win, AUSL action is about to ramp back up. The AUSL All-Star Cup will begin at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday in Rosemont, Ill., and will run through Aug. 31.
