Here are Wednesday's top prospect performances from the Minors

July 24th, 2025

From leadoff homers to walk-off homers, the stars were out across the Minors on Wednesday. On the same night MLB Pipeline provided updates to our club Top 30 lists, many of the game’s biggest names put their best foot forward. It’s a hectic time down on the farm with the Trade Deadline looming (July 31) and potential big league roster spots up for grabs, so there’s no better time to check in on who stood out.

JJ Wetherholt, SS/2B, Memphis (STL No. 1/MLB No. 17)
For the second straight night, the Cardinals’ 2024 first-rounder hammered a leadoff home run for Memphis … and then he upped the ante. Wetherholt delivered the second two-homer game of his pro career, giving him six roundtrippers in a nine-game span, including four since arriving at Triple-A two weeks ago. The 22-year-old has been among the hottest hitters in the Minors during July, slashing .379/.455/.966 over his past eight games. Gameday

Bryce Eldridge, 1B, Sacramento (SF No. 1/MLB No. 18)
Eldridge went into his final at-bat of the afternoon hitless, but one swing made it a productive performance. The 20-year-old slugged a walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning for Triple-A Sacramento, his second consecutive game with a long ball. Despite two separate stints on the IL this season, Eldridge has gone deep 12 times and driven in 40 runs across 57 games between the top two levels of the Minors. Gameday

Harry Ford, C, Tacoma (SEA No. 3/MLB No. 51)
Few catching prospects in the game boast the all-around impact potential of the Mariners’ 2021 first-rounder. Ford drilled his second grand slam of the season to spark Tacoma, adding an RBI single to account for the third game of his career with five or more RBIs. In 74 games at Triple-A, Ford has compiled a slash line of .293/.409/.446 with 84 hits and 55 RBIs. Gameday

Cam Caminiti, LHP, Augusta (ATL No. 1/MLB No. 56)
It’s been a successful first full-season foray for Atlanta’s first-round pick in the 2024 Draft, who lowered his Single-A ERA to 2.73 after his seventh start. The 18-year-old scattered a pair of hits and walks and a hit batsman, finishing with five strikeouts in four scoreless frames. Caminiti has been tremendously difficult to square up, having yielded just three extra-base hits across 26 1/3 frames for Single-A Augusta this summer. Gameday

Dylan Beavers, OF, Norfolk (BAL No. 3)
Beavers clubbed the second pitch of the game out to right-center field for Triple-A Norfolk. The 23-year-old was back at it the next frame, crushing a three-run homer at 105.4 mph off the bat, marking the fourth multihomer performance of his career. An excellent year for Beavers has taken off during the summer with an OPS north of 1.000 in both June and July. The 33rd overall pick in the 2022 Draft entered the night in the top three among all Orioles prospects in wOBA, wRC+ and SLG while leading in line-drive rate. Gameday

Ryan Clifford, 1B/OF, Binghamton (NYM No. 7)
Ever since he arrived in the Mets’ system as part of the Justin Verlander trade in August 2023, Clifford’s carrying card has been his 60-grade power. He showed out with that tool by drilling a pair of solo homers on a three-hit, three-RBI night for the Double-A Rumble Ponies. His 19 roundtrippers this season lead both the Double-A Eastern League and fellow New York prospects. The 22-year-old has already tied his 2024 home run output in 40 fewer games and is just six off the pace from setting a career high. Gameday

Garrett Baumann, RHP, Rome (ATL No. 7)
Baumann rebounded from consecutive subpar performances to begin July with one of his best. The 20-year-old equaled a career high with seven scoreless frames, struck out six and did not issue a walk for the third consecutive start. Baumann, who tossed 87 pitches (59 for strikes) and went to a three-ball count on just four batters, has been one of High-A Rome's best hurlers the past two months. The Florida native sports a 2.61 ERA and a 46-to-9 K/BB ratio in 48 1/3 innings across nine starts since May 24. Gameday

Tyler Locklear, 1B, Tacoma (SEA No. 9)
Locklear joined Ford in helping pace the Triple-A Tacoma offense. After a four-hit, two-homer, six-RBI showing Tuesday, the 24-year-old continued to be impossible to get out with four more hits and a walk for the Rainiers. In the span of two days, the 2022 second-rounder significantly raised his average (16 points) and his OPS (54 points). Across 16 July contests, Locklear is slashing .477/.532/.877 with seven homers and 31 RBIs. Gameday

Druw Jones, OF, Hillsboro (AZ No. 12)
Don’t look now but Jones has started to get the worm to turn in July. The second overall pick in the 2022 Draft clubbed his fourth homer of the month -- except this one involved his legs as much as his bat. Jones sparked a High-A Hillsboro victory with an inside-the-park homer in the first before putting the Hops ahead for good with a sacrifice fly later in the contest. Nine of his 16 hits this month have gone for extra bases while producing an .892 OPS, on pace for the highest of his career with at least 10 games. Gameday

Jean Carlos Sio, UTIL, San Jose (Unranked)
Sio had been, well, seeing the ball well during July with eight multihit contests and a .318 average entering play. But he took that to the next level and etched his name into the Single-A San Jose record book by hitting for the cycle, the club’s first since 2018. Drawing the start at shortstop for the first time since May 4, the 21-year-old utilityman from Cuba went single, homer, triple before ripping a double in the ninth. Repeating the level has done wonders for Sio in 2025 as his .299 average ranks among the top five in the California League. Gameday
