It’s the dog days of summer, so that means the hunt for the Minor League version of Best in Show is more competitive than ever. Saturday featured award-worthy performances both at the plate and on the mound, including mutlihit games by Walker Jenkins and Carter Jensen. Switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje made his Double-A debut, while Thomas White tossed another gem. There were plenty more top performers because it’s true -- every dog has its day.
Thomas White, LHP, Pensacola (MIA No. 1/MLB No. 21)
In his age-20 season, White has made another big leap, which was evident when he earned his first Double-A win. He struck out nine over six innings while allowing just one hit. MLB's second-ranked left-handed pitching prospect now has a 2.05 ERA and an impressive 49/14 K/BB ratio over his first seven Double-A starts. Including his starts at High-A, White has now surpassed the 100-K mark for the second consecutive season. Gameday
Konnor Griffin, SS/OF, Greensboro (PIT No. 1/MLB No. 1)
There’s a reason the 19-year-old is the game’s top prospect -- days like this. Griffin recorded his 17th game with at least three hits, going 3-for-6 with two walks and two stolen bases for High-A Greensboro, who compiled a whopping 27 runs. In his current series vs. Asheville, the 2024 first-rounder has nine hits, three homers and 11 RBIs in five games. For the year, he’s slashing .333/.412/.536 with 40 extra-base hits and 52 steals. Walker Jenkins, OF, Wichita (MIN No. 1/MLB No. 11)
Jenkins has steadily improved over each month of the 2025 season, and so far, he has done the same in August. His latest outing saw him go 3-for-4 with two doubles -- already his fifth multihit performance in just eight games this month. Overall, the 6-foot-3 outfielder is batting .312 with a .925 OPS over 42 Double-A games this year. Both figures would lead the Texas League if he had the requisite at-bats. Gameday

Aidan Miller, SS, Reading (PHI No. 2/MLB No. 17)
The Fightin Phils trounced the Fisher Cats on to the tune of a 16-1 final score, so it’s no surprise that Miller played a pivotal role. The shortstop went 2-for-4 with two walks, coming around to score four runs. He also stole two bases, upping his season total to an Eastern League-leading 44. On the other side of the ball, Miller made a highlight-worthy defensive play when he ranged to his left and made a perfect throw while on the run for an out in the ninth inning. Gameday
Carter Jensen, C, Omaha (KC No. 2/MLB No. 66)
Jensen was an extra-base hit machine, starting with his first Triple-A triple in the fourth inning and ending with his ninth homer at the level in the ninth inning, all with a double in between to fall a single shy of the cycle. The homer, which was his 15th of the season overall, rocketed off the bat at 109.1 mph. It marked Jensen’s second three-hit game since his promotion in late June. Gameday
Jurrangelo Cijntje, SHP, Arkansas (SEA No. 8/MLB No. 69)
Switch-pitching has arrived at Double-A. One of the game’s most unique prospects allowed three runs over five innings and struck out four in his Arkansas debut. Cijntje, who has found most of his success from the right side, is in the midst of a solid stretch -- over his past four starts (three with High-A Everett), the Mariners’ 2024 first-rounder has worked 23 1/3 innings with a 3.86 ERA and 24 strikeouts. Gameday
Owen Murphy, RHP, Rome (ATL No. 6)
Murphy’s return from Tommy John surgery last May continues to trend upward. The 2022 first-round pick spun five no-hit innings with five strikeouts and one walk for High-A Rome, retiring 10 straight to conclude his start. The outing marked his third straight scoreless start, extending his streak to 11 1/3 frames with 18 punchouts. Gameday
