On Thursday, May 1, Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager returned to the Texas Rangers Youth Academy in West Dallas to host his third annual hitting clinic for Academy athletes.

A five-time MLB All-Star and two-time World Series Most Valuable Player, Seager was joined by his wife, Mady, as he spent the evening offering hands-on instruction and advice to a group of high-level youth baseball players.

“Its fun to be around kids who really enjoy this and want to learn,” said Seager. “This is something that I’m passionate about, obviously, so being able to give back in this way is a lot of fun for (Mady and I).”

Seager’s commitment to supporting the next generation of athletes was on full display as he worked closely with participants, sharing insights from his professional career and helping sharpen their hitting skills. This year, he was joined by Rangers hitting coach Justin Viele, adding even more expertise to the special event.

“It felt like we were able to talk to (Seager) player-to-player, rather than it being a questionnaire,” said Academy athlete Dominik Harper. “He’s been through and done what I’m trying to do.”

The annual clinic has become a staple of Seager’s off-field contributions to the organization and reflects his continued dedication to the mentorship of young talent in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

“Seeing the excitement in their faces is pretty cool,” said Seager. “That’s why we like doing this.”
