Club Options Left-Handed Pitcher Jovani Morán to Worcester

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today recalled left-handed pitcher Brennan Bernardino from Triple-A Worcester. To make room on the active roster, Boston optioned left-handed pitcher Jovani Morán to Worcester following last night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Bernardino, 33, has pitched in 47 games (one start) for Boston this season, posting a 3.09 ERA (15 ER/43.2 IP) with 36 strikeouts. The left-hander has also pitched 4.0 innings across four outings with Worcester, striking out eight while allowing one run on three hits and four walks. Originally selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 26th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, the California native owns a 3.47 ERA (57 ER/147.2 IP) in 161 career Major League games (10 starts) with the Seattle Mariners (2022) and Red Sox (2023-25).

Morán, 28, has pitched in two games for Boston, allowing three runs in 4.0 innings. The left-hander has also posted a 3.44 ERA (7 ER/18.1) in 12 games (one start) with Worcester. Selected by the Minnesota Twins in the seventh round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft, the Puerto Rico native owns a 4.26 ERA (45 ER/95.0 IP) in 81 career Major League games with the Twins (2021-23) and Red Sox (2025).
