ANAHEIM -- The Rangers and their partners are providing $1 million to short- and long-term relief and recovery efforts following flooding in Central Texas in the Texas Hill Country.
The floods over the Fourth of July weekend have claimed more than 100 lives, according to local officials, with search efforts still continuing for dozens of adults and children who remain unaccounted for.
Several professional teams in the Metroplex and across the state of Texas have also pledged their efforts.
The Dallas Mavericks, the Houston Rockets, the San Antonio Spurs and the NBA Players Association all came together to provide more than $2 million to support immediate and long-term relief to those most impacted. The Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Texans and NFL Foundation also combined to contribute $1.5 million to communities impacted by flooding. Earlier today, the Houston Astros organization announced it is also committing $1 million.
