Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to Friday night’s homestand opener against the Cleveland Guardians at Globe Life Field:

  • Outfielder Evan Carter placed on 10-day Injured List (right wrist fracture).
  • Infielder/outfielder Michael Helman (#24) recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.

Carter exited yesterday’s game at Kansas City in the 8th inning after being hit by a pitch in the right arm during his plate appearance in the 7th inning. He has batted .247/.336/.392/.728 with 5 home runs and 25 RBI over 63 games with Texas this season. Carter was also on the 10-day Injured List from May 17-June 2 with a right quad strain and from August 2-12 with back spasms.

Helman will be in his third stint with the Rangers this season, as he was also with the club from June 27-July 16 and July 21-26. He has gone 2-for-11 in 8 games/5 starts over his two stints with Texas, including his first Major League home run along with 4 RBI on July 21 vs. Athletics. He is seeking his first action with the Rangers since July 25 vs. Athletics.

Helman has batted .245 with 8 home runs, 16 doubles, and 32 RBI over 53 games with Round Rock this season since he was acquired by the Rangers from the Pirates in a May 19 waiver claim. He began the year in the St. Louis organization before being acquired by Pittsburgh via waiver claim on May 14. Pittsburgh then designated him for assignment on May 16. Helman was originally selected by Minnesota in the 11th round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Texas A&M University and made his MLB debut with the Twins in 2024.

With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with three players (Cody Bradford, Tyler Mahle, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
