The Pittsburgh Pirates today recalled infielder Liover Peguero (pronounced LEE-over puh-GAIR-oh) from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Right-handed pitcher Hunter Stratton was optioned to Indianapolis following yesterday’s game to make room for Peguero on the 26-man active roster.
The 24-year-old Peguero was hitting .258 (23-for-89) with six doubles, one triple, one home run, and 12 RBI in 24 games this season with Indianapolis at the time he was promoted today.
Peguero will wear uniform No. 31.
