FLUSHING, N.Y., May 1, 2025 – The New York Mets will host Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Night presented by Toyota at Citi Field on Wednesday, May 14 when they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates at 7:10 p.m.
As part of the celebration, the Mets will host a pre-game party on the Mets Plaza beginning at 5:00 p.m., featuring local food trucks owned by members of the AAPI community along with live music from fan-favorite, DJ Herb. Additionally, the Ohana Paddling Association (OPA), a non-profit organization fostering teamwork and community through diverse sports, will present a special Lion Dance, while Ranjanee Inc., a group dedicated to promoting Indian performing arts, will perform a Bollywood Dance.
Hee Seo, principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre, will throw out the first pitch. The National Anthem will be performed by professional violinist Alyssa Kim. Composer Soo Yeon Lyuh will perform “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” on the haegeum, a two-stringed Korean bowed instrument. DJ GETLIVE! will be the night’s DJ, performing pre-game and in-game sets in the ballpark.
