Phillies and King Swings surprise Malvern family with backyard makeover
While the team was away in Miami, volunteers from the Phillies front office, along with the crew from King Swings, took over the backyard of the Almada family in Malvern, Pa. and gave it a complete Phillies makeover, including a custom, Phillies-colored swing set and a full Wiffle ball field.
The swing set, donated by King Swings, was built by owner & CEO Elmer King. Phillies volunteers also landscaped, trimmed trees, and hung up Phillies postseason banners.
The Almada brothers – Ray, Sammy and Gio – recently and unexpectedly lost their father, and have been receiving grief support from Peter’s Place, a Phillies community partner. The boys were gifted custom Phillies jerseys by the team’s ambassadors Mickey Morandini, Milt Thompson, Dcikie Noles and Scott Palmer.
This special event was a part of the Phillies Summer of Giving presented by The GIANT Company.
