Injury: Left foot contusion
Expected return: Aug. 1
Status: Fouled a ball off the top of his left foot in the Mets' July 29 game against the Padres. X-rays were negative. Should return when the Mets begin a homestand Aug. 1 against the Giants, or at least shortly thereafter. (updated July 30) More >>

Injury: Right shoulder impingement
IL date: July 3 (15-day IL)
Expected return: Early August
Status: Stretched out to 87 pitches on July 27. Will make one last rehab start Aug. 2, after which the Mets will almost certainly activate him. (updated July 29) More >>

Injury: Lower back inflammation
IL date: July 11 (10-day IL)
Expected return: August
Status: Received an epidural July 18 to address continued back discomfort. Was scheduled to rest for another 7-10 days but is still not close to starting baseball activities. (updated July 29) More >>
RHP Drew Smith
Injury: Recovery from Tommy John surgery with internal brace
IL date: Feb. 13 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Late 2025 or 2026
Status: Underwent surgery in July 2024. Subsequently signed a one-year deal with a 2026 team option to return to the Mets, who are overseeing his rehab. Has been throwing bullpen sessions and should advance to live batting practice soon. (updated July 29)
OF Jose Siri
Injury: Fractured left tibia
IL date: April 17 (transferred to 60-day IL on June 23)
Expected return: Second half
Status: Was shut down in early June after imaging showed the bone hadn't healed as well as the Mets initially hoped. Will not restart a running program before August, but team officials remain optimistic that he can return this year. (updated July 27)
RHP Tylor Megill
Injury: Right elbow sprain
IL date: June 17 (retroactive to June 15; transferred to 60-day IL July 8)
Expected return: Mid-August
Status: Threw bullpen sessions on July 24 and 27 in advance of an upcoming rehab assignment. Is ineligible to be activated before Aug 14. (updated July 27) More >>
RHP Max Kranick
Injury: Right flexor strain
IL date: June 19 (60-day IL, retroactive to June 16)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Will undergo season-ending surgery later in July, though it's not yet certain if that will be a flexor repair operation or a Tommy John procedure. (updated July 25)
LHP Brandon Waddell
Injury: Right hip impingement
IL date: July 22 (15-day IL, retroactive to July 19)
Expected return: August
Status: Optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on July 19, but subsequently had that option reversed and was placed on the IL. Will be out until at least the first week of August. (updated July 22)
RHP Dedniel Núñez
Injury: Right elbow sprain
IL date: July 3 (transferred to 60-day IL on July 21)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent the second Tommy John surgery of his career in July. Will miss the rest of this year and likely most of next season as well. (updated July 21) More >>
RHP Griffin Canning
Injury: Ruptured left Achilles tendon
IL date: June 27 (60-day IL)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Ruptured his Achilles tendon on June 26 and had season-ending surgery the following day. Should require at least nine months of rehab before returning to mound. Will be a free agent after the season. (updated July 3) More >>

Injury: Left lat surgery
IL date: April 27 (transferred to 60-day IL on May 1)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent season-ending surgery May 12 in Chicago after tearing his lat muscle off the bone. Hopes to have a normal Spring Training in 2026. (updated May 17) More >>

Injury: Left elbow ligament sprain
IL date: April 30 (retroactive to April 27, transferred to 60-day IL on May 4)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent an MRI on April 30 that revealed a sprain. Subsequently decided to undergo Tommy John surgery, which will cost him the rest of this season and part of 2026. (updated May 4) More >>
INF Nick Madrigal
Injury: Fractured left shoulder
IL date: Feb. 24 (60-day IL)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Dislocated and fractured his shoulder during a Feb. 23 Grapefruit League game and subsequently underwent season-ending surgery. Under team control through 2026, should the Mets decide to tender him a contract. (updated March 12) More >>
RHP Christian Scott
Injury: Sprained UCL in right elbow
IL date: March 27 (60-day IL)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent a hybrid Tommy John surgery in September 2024 and will almost certainly miss all of 2025. Began throwing for the first time again on March 11. (updated March 12)
