Ballpark marriage proposals are nothing new. The cameras pan to a couple in the stands; the question gets popped and the rest of the stadium eagerly waits to see if the answer is "Yes!"

On Thursday night at High-A Everett’s Funko Field, however, Mariners No. 18 prospect put a new spin on the age-old tradition, proposing to his girlfriend Charlotte after the AquaSox’s 9-8 win over the Spokane Indians.

The 21-year-old right-hander's question was met with an emphatic yes, and as the couple embraced, Izzi’s teammates erupted in celebration.

Over five starts for Everett this season, Izzi -- a 2022 fourth-round pick -- sports a 2.60 ERA and has 21 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings. Last year, he made 26 starts for Single-A Modesto en route to a 2.85 ERA and 7.7 K/9.

Executing a successful on-field proposal and sharing it with your entire club? That’s one heck of a way to cap an extra-inning victory.

As they say -- how can you not be romantic about baseball?
