CLEVELAND -- delivered his strongest outing of the season on Tuesday to lead the Guardians to a 2-0 win over the Brewers at Progressive Field.

Allen threw six scoreless innings and limited Milwaukee to three hits and one walk while striking out six. It marked his longest start of the season and he also tied his season high in strikeouts (also April 15 against the Orioles).

Allen continued a strong stretch by the Guardians’ starters, who recorded a 2.34 ERA over the previous 13 games, entering Tuesday. Cleveland went 9-4 over that stretch.

In eight starts, Allen has a 3.70 ERA -- which ranks second on the Guardians to Ben Lively -- who landed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right flexor tendon strain.

José Ramírez hit a solo homer in the first inning to back Allen, and after singling in the eighth inning, he scored a second time on Kyle Manzardo's triple.
