Could Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons hit .200 in the big leagues?
In the latest episode of the 6-1-1 podcast that dropped on Tuesday, former MLB stars and Phillies teammates Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard discuss this crazy proposition with former New York Giants great Justin Tuck.
In a 2024 Bleacher Report interview with Parsons and Texans star quarterback C.J. Stroud, Parsons claimed he could bat .200 in the Majors, with plenty of disagreement from Stroud and considerable pushback from current MLB players. Tuck also wasn’t having any of it.
“I’d take the bet against that. All day, every day,” Tuck told Rollins and Howard. “I love you Pars, but nah. Could he beat out a throw to first base? 100%. But him sitting in the box and hitting liners to left and right field? Nah.”
Rollins, Howard and Tuck also touched on the probability of other football stars with baseball backgrounds hitting .200 right now, bringing up Giants quarterback Russell Wilson (fourth-round pick by the Rockies in the 2010 MLB Draft) and Kyler Murray (No. 9 overall pick by the A’s in the 2018 Draft).
