CLEVELAND -- José Ramírez has often taken the spotlight during his decorated career with the Guardians. On Sunday, before Cleveland's 8-2 win over the Athletics in the series finale, his daughter joined him center stage at Progressive Field for one of the most wholesome moments of the season.
The Guardians celebrated Family Day at the ballpark on Sunday, and Ramírez’s daughter, Isabella, threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Isabella took the field rocking a Ramírez City Connect jersey alongside her dad, who then positioned himself behind home plate. A smile beamed across Ramírez’s face as he corralled Isabella’s toss.
Guardians players and coaches were also joined by their kids on the field for the national anthem pregame, with Ramírez (a father of three) and Isabella standing side by side on the third-base foul line.
Proud dad alert. You’ve got to love it.
