July 31: Dodgers deal away May, add outfield depth on busy Deadline day
The defending World Series champions made several Trade Deadline moves aimed at upgrading around the margins of their talented roster, but no move was bigger than a deal that sent right-handed starter Dustin May to the Red Sox. The Dodgers received two Minor League outfielders -- 2024 first-round Draft pick James Tibbs III (Boston’s No. 5 prospect) and Zach Ehrhard (Boston’s No. 27 prospect) in exchange.

L.A. also made deals for Nationals outfielder Alex Call and Twins reliever Brock Stewart, the latter of whom played for the Dodgers from 2016-19. They traded away two prospects for Call and traded outfielder James Outman in exchange for Stewart. The Dodgers were part of a three-team swap with the Rays and Reds that netted L.A. right-hander Paul Gervase, who made his Major League debut in June, plus catcher Ben Rortvedt and Minor League lefty Adam Serwinowski. Los Angeles traded catcher Hunter Feduccia to Tampa Bay in the deal.
