DODGERS RECALL EDGARDO HENRIQUEZ
LOS ANGELE**S –** The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Edgardo Henriquez and placed right-handed pitcher Brock Stewart on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation.
Henriquez, 23, returns for his second trip with the big club after firing 2.1 scoreless innings in three appearances in his first tour with the Major League team. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he has appeared in 22 games, posting a 1-1 record with a 6.85 ERA. He has 36 strikeouts in 23.2 innings. He made his Major League debut in Los Angeles last season, going 0-0 with a 2.70 ERA and five strikeouts in 3.1 innings. The Venezuelan native has been in the organization since 2019, appearing in 110 games, striking out 248 batters in 177.0 innings. He was signed as an international free agent by the Dodgers on September 25, 2018.
Stewart, 33, was acquired on July 31 from the Twins in exchange for outfielder James Outman. The righty made four appearances for the Dodgers, allowing two runs in 3.1 innings with three strikeouts. He is 2-2 with a 2.63 ERA on the season. He began his career with the Dodgers in 2016, making five starts (seven games), going 2-2 with a 5.79 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 28 innings. He is in his seventh Major League season, spending parts with the Dodgers (2016-19), Toronto Blue Jays (2019) and Twins (2023-25) and he is 10-5 with a 4.48 ERA with 190 strikeouts in 186.2 innings. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the sixth round of the 2014 First Year Player Draft out of Illinois State University.
