DODGERS RECALL ALEXIS DÍAZ
LOS ANGELE**S –** The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Alexis Díaz and placed left-handed pitcher Tanner Scott on the injured list with left elbow inflammation.
Díaz, 28, returns for his second stint with the team. He was acquired on May 29 from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for minor league pitcher Mike Villani. He made eight appearances for Oklahoma City, going 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA and six strikeouts in 6.2 innings. He was 0-0 with a 12.00 ERA in six games for the Reds this year. He was a National League All-Star in 2023, going 9-6 with a 3.07 ERA with 37 saves in a career-high 71 games. He is in his fourth Major League season, and he is 75-for-86 in save opportunities with a 3.21 ERA in 196 games. He was drafted by the Reds in the 12th round of the 2015 First Year Player Draft out of Juan Jose Maunez High School (Puerto Rico).
Scott, 31, left the game in the ninth inning last night. He has pitched in 47 games this season, going 1-2 with a 4.14 ERA and 19 saves in 26 chances. He is in his ninth season in the Major Leagues with stops in Baltimore (2017-21), Miami (2022-24), San Diego (2024) and the Dodgers, going 32-26 with a 3.63 ERA in 430 games. He has 74 saves in his career with 536 strikeouts in 414.1innings. He was drafted by Baltimore in the sixth round (181st overall) in the 2014 MLB Draft out of Howard College (Tx.).
