DODGERS ACTIVATE MAX MUNCY
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated infielder Max Muncy from the injured list and optioned catcher Chuckie Robinson.
Muncy, 34, returns from his second IL stint of the season after missing 23 games with an oblique injury. He made three rehab appearances with Oklahoma City, going 2-for-7 with two walks. He has played in 89 games this season, hitting .258 with an .800 OPS, 17 homers and 64 RBI. He clubbed his 200th career homer on May 31 against the Yankees and he is seventh all-time in franchise history with 207 career homers. He has been with the Dodgers eight seasons, slashing .233/.359/.487 with 584 RBI. Prior to joining the Dodgers, he played two seasons with the Athletics, clubbing five homers and driving in 17 in 96 games. He was drafted by the Athletics in the fifth round of the 2012 First Year Player Draft out of Baylor University.
Robinson, 30, was activated on Saturday but did not participate in a game for the Dodgers. He was claimed on May 31 from the Los Angeles Angels and played in 47 games for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets, batting .259 with four homers and 28 RBI. He made his Major League debut in 2022 with the Cincinnati Reds, playing 25 games and clubbing two homers and driving in five. He has been in the Majors parts of two seasons with the Reds and Chicago White Sox (2024), slashing .132/.170/.194 with two doubles and two homers. He has a .992 fielding percentage and is 12-for-48 in runners caught stealing. He was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in the 21st round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Southern Mississippi.
