DODGERS ACQUIRE ZACH PENROD
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired left-handed pitcher Zach Penrod from the Boston Red Sox for cash considerations. In order to make room on the roster, the Dodgers transferred right-handed pitcher Roki Sasaki to the 60-day injured list.
Penrod, 28, was designated for assignment on June 15. He made his Major League debut in 2024, posting a 2.25 ERA in seven games. He made six appearances for Triple-A Worcester this season, going 0-1 with a 5.68 ERA and seven strikeouts in 6.1 innings. In 37 minor league games (22 starts), he is 10-6 with a 4.05 ERA and 138 strikeouts in 102.1 innings. He was originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Texas Rangers in 2018 out of Northwest Nazarene.
