DODGERS ACQUIRE PAUL GERVASE, BEN RORTVEDT, ADAM SERWINOWSKI

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired right-handed pitcher Paul Gervase, minor league catcher Ben Rortvedt and minor league left-handed pitcher Adam Serwinowski in a three-way trade with the Tampa Bay Rays and Cincinnati Reds. In exchange, the Dodgers sent catcher Hunter Feduccia to the Rays. The Rays also received minor league right-handed pitcher Brian Van Belle from Cincinnati, and the Reds acquired right-handed pitcher Zack Littell from Tampa Bay.

Gervase, 25, appeared in five games with the Rays, striking out six batters in 6.1 innings. Prior to joining the Rays, he made 28 appearances for Triple-A Durham, going 2-3 with 3.12 ERA. He had 63 strikeouts in 40.1 innings while he limited hitters to a .186 batting average. In four minor league seasons, he is 11-8 with a 2.98 ERA and 252 strikeouts in 154 innings. The 6-foot, 10-inch hurler was drafted by the New York Mets in the 12th round of the 2022 First Year Player out of Louisiana State University.

Rortvedt, 27, joins the organization after spending 26 games with the Rays. He batted .095 with two runs, six RBI and was outrighted to Triple-A Durham on June 1. He has been in the Majors parts of four seasons with the Minnesota Twins (2021), New York Yankees (2023) and Tampa Bay (2024-25) hitting .186 with eight home runs and 48 RBI. He was originally drafted by the Twins in the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Vernon Area High School in Wisconsin.

Serwinowski, 21, comes over from the Reds organization. He pitched in 18 games (17 starts) for High-A Dayton, going 1-7 with a 4.84 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 74.1 innings. In four minor seasons, he iw 2-10 with a 4.06 ERA and 242 strikeouts in 188.1 innings. He was drafted by the Reds in the 15th round of the 2022 First Year Player Draft out of Eastside High School (SC).

Feduccia, 28, played in two games for the Dodgers this season, going 0-for-2. In seven big league games, he is batting .286 with two runs and one RBI. In seven minor league seasons with the Dodgers, he batted .271 with 55 homers and 308 RBI. He was drafted in the 12th round out of Louisiana State University in 2018.
