A strong offensive showing and an unforgettable pitching performance led Tung-Yuan Little League to the 2025 Little League World Series title.
The club from Chinese Taipei took down Summerlin South Little League from Las Vegas, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon in the championship game at South Williamsport, Pa.
Pitcher Lin Chin-Tse took a perfect game into the fifth inning of the six-inning game for Chinese Taipei, the first international Little League World Series champion since a team from Tokyo in 2017. It was Chinese Taipei’s first LLWS title since 1996. A different squad representing Chinese Taipei lost the 2024 championship game to Lake Mary, Fla.
This year’s Tung-Yuan team, though, was truly dominant. The club went 5-0 in the 2025 LLWS, beating Aruba, 1-0, in the international championship game on Sunday to reach the final. In the title game against the Las Vegas squad, Chinese Taipei scored runs on a wild pitch and an error in the second and third innings. Tung-Yuan put the game away with a five-run fifth inning, and relief pitcher Chen Qi-Sheng closed things out.
It was the 18th Little League World Series championship for a team from Chinese Taipei, the highest total of any non-U.S. team.
