Top 50 high school baseball players from Native American descent will represent 31 tribes from 22 states and Canada

June 19th, 2025

The Atlanta Braves released today the final roster for the fourth annual Native American All-Star Baseball Showcase hosted by the Braves at Truist Park from Saturday, June 21 through Sunday, June 22. These top 50 high school baseball players from Native American descent represent 31 tribes from across 22 states and Canada. Among those selected include five athletes from Braves Country – Georgia and North Carolina – with Cherokee, Catawba, and Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian (EBCI) tribal affiliations.

The Native American All-Star Baseball Showcase highlights Native American high school baseball players who aspire to play the game at the next level. As part of the Braves' efforts to provide access and opportunity for diverse baseball talent, athletes will gain elite baseball development training with former MLB players and the chance to play in front of college and Major League scouts on a big-league stage, offering exposure for players who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to at this level.

As part of the two-day 2025 Native American All-Star Baseball Showcase, selected athletes will first compete in a pro-style workout on Saturday, June 21. Executed by Marquis Grissom Baseball Association, the workout will focus on defensive work, fielding, throwing, and catcher pop times. Four to six players will be selected during Saturday’s batting practice to then participate in a Home Run Derby that same afternoon.

On Sunday, June 22, all athletes will be divided into two teams for the showcase game, with former Major League Baseball players as coaches for each respective team. As in years past, the Atlanta Braves will continue to utilize TrackMan Baseball, a leading technology company in sports analytics, for the showcase to capture, track, and deliver player statistics to help players improve their overall game.

Players and families will also hear from Atlanta Braves Southern Regional Scouting Supervisor Travis Coleman, Savannah State University Head Baseball Coach Tino Burgos, and Braves Alumni Julio Franco through a panel. Native American mentors in attendance will have the opportunity to also connect with them in a small group setting.

In addition to this showcase, the Atlanta Braves have a rich history of honoring and celebrating Native American communities across Braves Country through various collaborative initiatives and activations. In recognition of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Awareness Day on May 5, the Braves partnered with local Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian (EBCI) artists to create unique, hand-beaded bracelets honoring the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous people. Braves players wore these bracelets during batting practice in respect of this initiative. Each season, the Braves also host their annual EBCI Night at Truist Park, honoring and recognizing the community's impact across the Southeast. This year's EBCI Night will be held on Saturday, June 14, as the Braves take on the Colorado Rockies. More details are to come at a later date.
