Nola solid again in rehab start, moving toward MLB return

August 6th, 2025

PHILADELPHIA -- took another step toward his potential return on Wednesday night in his latest rehab start with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The veteran right-hander allowed one run over 3 2/3 innings for the IronPigs, striking out three and walking two. Nola threw 69 pitches, including 40 for strikes.

It was the second rehab start for Nola, who struck out three over three scoreless innings on Friday in Worcester.

Nola initially landed on the IL on May 15 with a sprained right ankle. He then felt some soreness in his side while rehabbing that injury and testing ultimately revealed a stress fracture in his right rib.

Nola said both his ankle and rib felt good following that first rehab outing. Assuming that is once again the case coming out of Wednesday's start, the veteran right-hander will likely make at least one more rehab start -- either next Tuesday or Wednesday.

If he continues to progress, Nola could potentially be activated in mid-August following that third rehab start.
