It's that time of year again -- the time to honor the cream of the crop in Minor League Baseball.
The MiLB Awards Show will return for a third season on Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET on MLB Network. Hosted by Xavier Scruggs and MLB Network Emmy Award-winning host and play-by-play announcer Matt Vasgersian, the program will highlight all things MiLB, from top prospect performances, to the most electrifying debuts and the zaniest alternate identities.

Here are the categories that will be awarded:
Minor League Hitting Prospect of the Year: Won by the Red Sox's Kristian Campbell in '24 and the Orioles’ Jackson Holliday in ‘23, this award takes into account production, age and level when identifying the prospect that had the best year at the plate. Last year, Campbell broke out and won the award going away, after hitting .330/.439/.558 across three levels and leading the Minors in total bases.
Minor League Pitching Prospect of the Year: Just like the previous category, the Pitching Prospect of the Year identifies someone who has been dominant on the mound, while also taking into account their age and level. The Cardinals' Quinn Mathews won last year’s award after piling up a Minors-leading 202 strikeouts, the first 200-K season in the Minors in more than a decade.
All-MiLB Prospect Team: This category tabs the best prospects at each position in 2025, splitting the players into a First Team and Second Team. Last season’s First Team featured seven players who have played in The Show this season.
Breakout Player of the Year: This is a player who went from outside the Top 100 list to prospect prominence in ‘25, excluding prospects that made their pro debut this year. Campbell, last year's winner, was the definition of this award. He was in Boston on Opening Day, a year after opening '24 unranked on the preseason Top 100 list. The year prior, Rays third baseman Junior Caminero earned this distinction.
Minor League Debut of the Year: This self-explanatory award is given to the prospect who had the best first year in professional baseball. Mathews, the Cardinals southpaw, took home this award last year.
Defensive Player of the Year: Rays shortstop Carson Williams won this award last year as the Minors' consensus top defender. Can he make it back-to-back years? Williams will need to beat out a talented field that includes Red Sox shortstop Franklin Arias, D-backs center fielder Druw Jones and Orioles outfielder Vance Honeycutt to do so.
