Teenage phenoms, hard-hitting prospects among Tuesday's top performers

Youth was served in the Minors on Tuesday, which featured a pair of heavy-hitting outbursts from two teenagers who rank among the best in their respective organizations. But they weren't alone as a number of Top 100 prospects came through with notable performances to kick off another week of Minor League action:

Jesús Made, SS/3B, Carolina (MIL No. 2/MLB No. 52)
Made's eye-opening performance through the first three weeks of the season was boosted by his third consecutive multihit performance. The 17-year-old homered for the second time in three games, collected four hits for the first time in affiliated ball, drove in three runs and stole a base for Single-A Carolina. Made is slashing .323/.413/.538 with seven extra-base hits and 14 RBIs in 16 games. Gameday

Leo De Vries, SS, Fort Wayne (SD No. 1/MLB No. 17)
One week after hitting for the cycle, De Vries came within a triple of doing it again. The Padres' teenage phenom filled up the box score with three hits -- including his fourth homer -- three RBIs and three runs scored for High-A Fort Wayne. De Vries has hit safely in 12 of the TinCaps' 18 games and is batting .290 with a .968 OPS, 11 extra-base hits and 16 RBIs. Gameday

Otto Kemp, 3B/2B, Lehigh Valley (PHI No. 24)
Kemp extended his hitting streak to six games with arguably the best outing of his pro career. The 25-year-old slugged a pair of homers on a three-hit night and drove in a career-high six to pace Triple-A Lehigh Valley's 19-run outburst. Kemp is slashing .327/.427/.712 and his nine homers are tied for the most in the Minors with Triple-A Charlotte's Tim Elko. Gameday

Jordan Lawlar, SS, Reno (AZ No. 1/MLB No. 10)
Lawlar's sizzling start to 2025 got a few degrees warmer after another multihit game for Triple-A Reno. The 22-year-old swatted his sixth long ball of the season, doubled, walked, scored three times and drove in two runs to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Lawlar, who is slashing .364/.460/.682, has eight multihit performances during that stretch and 13 overall in his first 27 contests. Gameday

Matt Shaw, INF, Iowa (CHC No. 1/MLB No. 18)
Things have turned around quickly for Shaw, who initially struggled after he returned to Triple-A Iowa. The 23-year-old doubled while equaling a career high with four hits and drove in a run for the third straight contest from the leadoff spot. Shaw was 1-for-14 in his first five games back with the I-Cubs but has gone 8-for-14 with three extra-base hits since. Gameday

Christian Moore, 2B, Rocket City (LAA No. 1/MLB No. 64)
Moore picked an opportune time for his first long ball of the season, going deep in the same city he played collegiately for Tennessee. The 22-year-old added a pair of singles for his second consecutive three-hit game and has now hit safely in six of his past eight games. Full story | Gameday

Jonny Farmelo, OF, Everett (SEA No. 6/MLB No. 92)
After missing nearly a year of action due to an ACL injury, Farmelo was a big hit in his return with High-A Everett. The 20-year-old homered in his third at-bat during his first Minor League action since injuring his knee last June. Farmelo had not gone deep since connecting for a trio of homers over consecutive games last May 29-30. Full story | Gameday

Aidan Smith, OF, Bowling Green (TB No. 6/MLB No. 100)
Smith continued his recent hot stretch with his first High-A roundtripper, three hits, three runs, a walk and a stolen base for the Hot Rods. It marked the third multihit effort in three games for the 20-year-old, who has collected five of his eight RBIs in that span while going 7-for-17 following a 1-for-21 stretch. Gameday

Carson Benge, OF, Brooklyn (NYM No. 3/MLB No. 97)
After a slow start to 2025, Benge is rounding into form. The 19th overall pick in last year's Draft swatted a pair of doubles while setting a career high with four hits and scored twice while extending his hitting streak to five games for High-A Brooklyn. Benge has gone 10-for-20 and raised his average 92 points in that span. The 22-year-old is slashing .292/.403/.415 in 17 games. Gameday

JR Ritchie, RHP, Rome (ATL No. 7)
Ritchie put forth the longest outing of his pro career, spinning seven scoreless innings for High-A Rome. The 21 year-old struck out six, allowed four hits and walked one during his 82-pitch outing. Ritchie has been nearly unhittable during his first five starts of 2025 with a 1.93 ERA and an 0.93 WHIP while limiting opponents to a .179 average. Gameday
