When and where is the MLB Hackney Bridge Takeover?

The three-day event runs from Friday, August 1 to Sunday, August 3 at Hackney Bridge in the heart of Hackney Wick (Units 1-28, Echo Building, E Bay Ln, London E15 2SJ)

What’s the best way to get there?

Hackney Bridge is only a short minute or two’s walk from Hackney Wick Overground. As you leave the station, head northeast along White Post Lane, right onto East Bay Lane and on until you get to the Echo Building.

If you’re coming by train, Tube, or DLR via Stratford, it’s a lovely walk east toward the Olympic Park and across the canal. Just follow the signs for Hackney Bridge on East Bay Lane.

Do I need to register or buy a ticket in advance?

Nope! The MLB Hackney Bridge Takeover is open to all with no registrations or tickets necessary.

Is entry free?

Yes! The event is free to attend. You can come and go as much as you’d like across all three days.

What are the event opening and closing times?

Closing time by area - Garden and Indoors

Garden:

  • Friday 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Nico’s:

  • Friday: 3:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. (Closed for VIP and influencers)
  • Saturday: 4:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.
  • Sunday: 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

Hackney (Food Hall)

  • Friday: 12:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
  • Saturday: 12:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
  • Sunday: 12:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Is the venue accessible?

Hackney Bridge has a step-free entrance, along with accessible toilets, baby-changing facilities and gender-neutral toilets.

Are there any age restrictions on the activities?

To make sure everyone can play safely, there’s a minimum age limit of 12+ for the Yankees batting cage and 8+ for the Red Sox batting cage.

Do I need to sign a waiver to take part in the activities?

You’ll need to fill out a waiver before you participate in your first activity. After that, you’ll only need to show the completed confirmation which you will receive via email.

Will there be live baseball games?

We’ll be screening live MLB action throughout the afternoons and evenings – along with a feature game every day with inning break entertainment and interactive games.

Feature games:

  • Friday: Braves vs. Reds
  • Saturday: Dodgers vs. Rays
  • Sunday: Yankees vs. Marlins

What food & drink options are available

There are eight different street food vendors spread throughout the event serving up a range of baseball-themed gameday favourites. Along with a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available to purchase.

What time will food and drinks be served?

Food is available to purchase:

  • Friday and Saturday: 11am – 10pm
  • Sunday: 12pm – 10pm

Drinks will be served until 30 minutes before each area’s closing time.

Will alcohol be served on-site?

Alcohol will be available to purchase at the event bars with ID checks in place. Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in ejection from the site.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

You cannot bring your own food or drink to the event unless it’s required for health reasons.

What payment methods are accepted?

Hackney Bridge is a 100% cash-free venue. Card payments only.

Is the event indoors or outdoors?

The event will be held both indoors and outdoors, rain or shine.

Is there an age requirement to attend?

The MLB Hackney Bridge Takeover is a family event and all are welcome. However under-16s will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian and under-18s will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver on their behalf before they can take part in any activities.

Will there be security at the event?

There will be security across Hackney Bridge for the duration of the event. Anyone who doesn’t comply with the event’s rules will be asked to leave.

Will there be any filming taking place at the event?

There will be filming and photography throughout the event. By attending, you acknowledge that MLB and its partners may capture and use event content, including images or recordings of attendees, as part of their owned media. This content may be used globally, in perpetuity, across any media (existing or future), for editorial, promotional or commercial purposes. If you do not wish to be filmed or recorded, please speak to a member of the event team.

Are there any prohibited items?

  • Firearms or replicas
  • Knives or any item that could be used as a weapon
  • Illegal drugs or substances
  • Outside alcohol (sealed bottled water is fine)
  • Glass bottles or cans
  • Pyrotechnics, fireworks and smoke devices
  • Aerosol sprays over 100 ml
  • Drones or remote-controlled aircraft
  • Professional photo/video equipment without prior accreditation
  • Large banners, poles or items that could obstruct sightlines
  • Laser pointers
  • Any item deemed by security to present a safety risk

Is there a lost property?

All items lost and handed in to a member of staff will be collated at reception and held for 30 days. We are not responsible for anything that is lost or stolen.

Is parking available on-site?

There’s no parking available at Hackney Bridge.

Is the venue dog friendly?

Friendly dogs are welcome across the site.
