The MLB Billy Bean Fellowship Program honors former player and front office executive Billy Bean, who lost his battle with leukemia in 2024. Fellows will have the opportunity to gain real-world baseball experience by working in the front office of a Club or at the MLB League office. Previous fellows have been placed in various baseball operations departments including: team operations, player development, scouting, and research and development. We strongly encourage candidates with degrees or knowledge in economics, statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, law and business to submit applications.

With a focus on attracting well-qualified applicants, MLB aims to place individuals who successfully complete this program directly into hiring pipelines with Clubs.
