COMMUNITY SPIRIT AWARD

Real Options for City Kids (R.O.C.K.) provides opportunities for youth and families in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood who might not otherwise have access to a range of positive experiences. R.O.C.K serves more than 900 children annually with a framework that develops healthy social and emotional skills, instills strong academic behaviors, and broadens horizons. Mr. Bautista has been a volunteer at R.O.C.K. for over 17 years, dedicating over 12 hours toward their mission every month. He works with students from all grade levels (K-12) with each of R.O.C.K.S unique programs—in-school, after school, on weekends, during overnight trips, and even at fundraising events. As a dedicated R.O.C.K. volunteer, Mr. Bautista has taken on service roles in numerous capacities: running alongside kids at basketball clinics, driving middle school students to hiking trails outside of San Francisco, attending overnight camping trips, dedicating his weekends to community Play Day barbecues, and so on. His efforts demonstrate the compassion and mentorship these students need to thrive in their environments and to transition into responsible young adults who positively impact their communities.
