Corey and his wife, Mady, give not for recognition, but because they want to help people. Since joining the Rangers, Corey and Mady have been unwaveringly supportive of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. They not only write checks, but they are also deeply invested and involved in what they support, and have invested more than $750,000 into the community.
They have hosted the “Seager Squad” hitting clinic at the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy for the last three seasons, impacting more than 100 athletes. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for academy athletes to receive personal hitting instruction from Corey and be able to ask him questions on his approach to hitting. At the end of the clinic, Corey poses for photos and the Seagers donate an equipment bag full of baseball gear to each athlete.
As Rangers Youth Academy athlete King Hatley said, “In my neighborhood, you just don’t normally get to meet people like Corey Seager.” King put the tips to work and is headed to Alabama State to play baseball this fall.
Each fall since 2023, Corey and Mady have hosted a back-to-school shopping spree for teens in the Families in Transition program from the Arlington Independent School District.
Corey, Mady and other teammates and their wives team up with an individual youngster and help them shop for items for back to school. Each student has $400 to spend inside the store. The event also includes breakfast and photos, and the kids leave with $100 spending money. To date, more than 100 youngsters have participated, and their teachers rave about the morale of the kids after the event.
In 2024, Seager collaborated with the Rangers Foundation and MLB to revamp Arlington’s Senter Park, enhancing the dual-field facility for players and spectators. The new MLB & Texas Rangers All-Star Legacy Park now features the Corey Seager Batting Cages, completely turfed and lighted, all paid for by the Seagers.
Each fall, Corey and Mady host the Prom Series Back to School Drive for local foster teens. They are joined by other teammates and their spouses in donating back-to-school outfits that include backpacks, accessories, clothes, shoes and a variety of other times for more than 90 children over the past three years. In addition, they have donated items to stock HopeLocal closets for those situations when teens are removed from their homes and don’t have any essential items with them; HopeLocal is able to provide clothing and accessories from the closet.
In addition, for the second year, Corey and Mady have hosted the “Uncork for a Cause,” an intimate wine event that includes wine tastings, silent and live auctions, and mingling with Corey and other team members and their spouses. The event has netted more than $130,000 for the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. Corey spends time with event sponsors, and he and Mady help make the auction a success.
Corey Seager exemplifies Roberto Clemente’s humanitarian efforts and charitable spirit. He would be honored to win an award bearing Clemente's name.
