Since that time, Aaron Nola has been recognized as an MLB All-Star (2018) and has received votes for the prestigious Cy Young Award in four seasons (2018, 2020, 2022, 2024).

But Aaron’s accolades also extend to his philanthropic efforts, as he has helped to raise millions of dollars for causes that are near and dear to his heart.

His extraordinary character has been noticed by The Players Trust, the charitable arm of Major League Baseball, which recently honored Aaron as their Most Valuable Philanthropist for the 2025 season.

The reason: He continuously steps up to the plate, using his national platform to uplift others.

One such example is his longtime support for Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), a leading organization for veterans and servicemembers seeking improved physical or mental health. In his inaugural Aaron Nola Celebrity Charity Poker tournament held this past May at Citizens Bank Park, he and his wife, Hunter, raised more than $225,000 for the cause, and have generated more than $600,000 for the health and wellness of veterans since 2023 through other fundraising efforts and events. This includes his donation of $1,000 per strikeout to Team RWB in 2024, contributing a total of $197,000 for his 197 strikeouts.

In addition, Aaron continues his personal mission to strike out ALS, having lost a beloved uncle to the always-fatal neuromuscular disease. He has long been a passionate advocate for the cause, supporting team fundraisers and the Phillies ALS Awareness Night presented by Asplundh, held every year at the ballpark. Aaron has also helped raise $250,000 for ALS research with Strike Out ALS bowling tournaments around the country, and this year was honored by the ALS Association with its annual Volunteer Impact Award.

Aaron has also stepped up to the plate when it comes to ending hunger in the Philadelphia area, where he has been a longtime ambassador for the Phans Feeding Families, an initiative held in partnership with the Phillies and Citizens. Created to support Philabundance and its hunger relief efforts, the program has raised more than $1 million to help feed families in need since it began a decade ago. Plus, he has recorded multiple service announcements, rallying support for the cause.
