One of baseball’s brightest stars, Corbin Carroll is building a legacy rooted in humility, integrity and compassion -- the same values that defined Clemente’s extraordinary life.
The 2023 National League Rookie of the Year, Corbin made history as the first rookie to record at least 25 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a season. In 2024, he followed with another elite performance, ranked among NL leaders in triples, runs and stolen bases. Corbin was named NL Player of the Month for August. And, he is the first Diamondback ever to record two seasons with 20-plus homers and 30-plus stolen bases. His 2025 season continues to set him apart: He is the only player in MLB history to record a season with four or more multi-homer games and another with three or more multi-triple games, and the only player to reach at least 18 home runs, six triples and 10 stolen bases within the first 60 games of a season. A two-time All-Star and Gold Glove finalist, Corbin is elite in every aspect of the game.
Yet it is his extraordinary impact off the field that defines him as a true Clemente Award nominee. From the moment he arrived in Arizona, Corbin immersed himself in causes that matter, especially those supporting youth and underserved communities. He is a cornerstone of the D-backs’ Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program, not just as a spokesperson but as a hands-on leader through his own CC7 Fund. He proudly serves as a Players Trust Ambassador for the MLBPA.
Corbin dedicates countless hours to young athletes -- providing gloves, gear, and uniforms, hosting clinics, surprising kids at practices and speaking at schools. He is especially passionate about helping children facing barriers to education and sports participation. When he learned that Phoenix-area high school athletes lacked cleats for tryouts, he personally purchased and donated 160 pairs of Nike cleats.
In partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and Honeywell Aerospace, Corbin helped create and distribute 10,000 Corbin Carroll-themed STEM storybooks to Title I students, visiting schools and events. During the offseason, he actively participates in charitable events -- shopping for underserved youth, visiting Boys & Girls Clubs and leading winter clinics with energy and heart.
Whether he’s cheering on RBI teams or mentoring the next generation, Corbin shows up with authenticity, humility and a deep desire to uplift others. He is more than an All-Star: He is a true role model who lives Roberto Clemente’s values every day. For all he gives to the game and his community, Corbin Carroll is a deserving and inspiring nominee for the 2025 Roberto Clemente Award.
