2025 MLB DRAFT

The Reds had three picks on day one of the 2025 MLB First-Year Player Draft: No. 9, No. 51 and No. 83. They rounded out their draft with Rounds 4-20 on day two. Of their 20 selections, the Reds drafted 12 pitchers, and six of the 20 players taken were high schoolers.
SS Steele Hall – Round 1, #9
With the ninth overall selection, the Cincinnati Reds took 17-year-old high school shortstop Steele Hall out of Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville, Alabama.
RHP Aaron Watson – Round 2, #51
With their second pick, the Reds selected 18-year-old right-handed pitcher Aaron Watson out of Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida.
RHP Mason Morris – Round 3, #83
With their third pick, the Reds drafted 21-year-old right-handed pitcher Mason Morris out of the University of Mississippi.

Reds announce Duno, Torres as Player/Pitcher of the Month for June
Daytona Tortugas' catcher Alfredo Duno and ACL Reds right-handed pitcher Stharlin Torres have been the organization's Player and Pitcher of the Month.
Duno's offensive excellence with Single-A Daytona earned him three home runs, 21 RBIs and four doubles in 21 outings. The 19-year-old from Miranda, Venezuela's batting average in June sat at .297. Through 69 games, Duno is tied for first in doubles, first in RBIs and top-20 in home runs and batting average in the entire Florida State League.
Further down the Reds' affiliates, Torres is dealing for the ACL Reds. The 19-year-old pitcher held down the mound for 16 innings, starting three contests and appearing in four overall. While pitching, Torres struck out 20 batters and only gave up two earned runs the entire month. The 2024 international signing class signee earned himself a 1.13 ERA during the month. Torres' handiwork has culminated an overall 1.88 ERA and 44 punch-outs through 10 games (38.1 IP, six games started).
Minor League Roundup
Triple-A Louisville
After going down 2-0 in their series against the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Louisville Bats rallied back to split the series. Back-to-back losses to start the string of games fueled a 14-2 win in game three to gift some momentum back to Louisville. Edwin Rios, Sal Stewart and Christian Encarnacion-Strand combined to drive in eight of the runs. After Omaha notched their first run in the second inning, the Bats drove in 10 straight runs to reach the total of 14.After the double-digit win, Louisville dropped game four. They then responded with a 9-0 shutout victory. In the win, Rece Hinds homered twice with five RBIs while Héctor Rodríguez went yard with three RBIs. The Bats went on to pick up the series-tying win to finish out the series.
Double-A Chattanooga
The Chattanooga Lookouts' rough series against the Knoxville Smokies ended on a high note with an 11-1 victory. Chattanooga's offensive onslaught began in the third and did not end until the ninth. Run scoring was spread throughout the lineup, with six players driving in at least one tally. Leo Balcazar, Cam Collier and Austin Callahan each picked up two RBIs. On the mound, Kevin Abel went five innings and struck out four to pick up the win.
High-A Dayton
Three home runs in two innings against the West Michigan Whitecaps helped lift the Dayton Dragons to a 5-2 on Saturday, Aug. 2.After being down 1-0 through four innings, Carter Graham changed Dayton's tune by skying a solo home run to tie the game. The next at-bat had Ariel Almonte match Graham's production to put the Dragons up 2-1. An inning later, Yerlin Confidan put the game on ice with a two-run shot. Graham and Confidan each drove in two runs while Jose Montero struck out six batters through six innings, only giving up one earned run.
5 Reds Prospects Crack MLB Pipeline Top 100

On January 24, MLB Network aired a special to announce MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects List heading into the 2025 season.
Led by 2024 #2 overall draft pick Chase Burns, five players in the Reds organization made the list, which tied for third most across the league.
