As part of their continued commitment to expanding access to the sport, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation hosted two weeks of its free Junior Mets Baseball Camp, sponsored by New Balance. The two weeks of camp were divided by age group, with one cohort of 8- to 10-year-olds and one cohort of 11- to 12-year-olds. Over 200 local children of all skill levels attended this year’s camp, working on their baseball and softball fundamentals under the guidance of USA Baseball-certified coaches.

Recognizing that great coaching is essential to growth, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation also invests in local coaches through its Coach Development Program. This initiative provides baseball and softball coaches with high-quality learning materials and training seminars led by trainers from the Center for Healing and Justice through Sport, an Amazin’ Mets Foundation grantee.

Francisco Lindor established his Smile Tuesdays program to educate children about the importance of dental hygiene. Participants meet Francisco before a game, learn about his journey to the big leagues and routine, and receive dental health tips from Dr. Howard Livers, the team dentist.

For his fourth event of 2025, Francisco hosted youth athletes from Forest Hills Youth Athletic Association. Earlier this year, Forest Hills Youth Athletic Association received a $20,000 grant from the Amazin’ Mets Foundation to support the purchase of uniforms for athletes in their 2025 programs.

Brandon Nimmo launched his Nimmo’s 9 initiative to foster meaningful connections and create unforgettable experiences for members of the local community. Throughout the season, Brandon welcomes groups of nine individuals to Citi Field for a special meet-and-greet that includes batting practice and tickets to the game.

For his fourth activation of the season, Brandon welcomed athletes from Special Olympics New York in recognition of Disability Pride Month. This summer, the athletes that represent the Special Olympics New York’s Softball teams in New York City and Long Island were supported with a $15,000 grant from the Amazin’ Mets Foundation.
