Mental health strongly influences personal well being and there are additional challenges that professional athletes face when navigating mental wellness. The Giants annual Mental Health Awareness game includes a pregame panel discussion and resource fair in Triples Alley featuring experts and advocates focused on engaging with the community as it relates to mental health - notably, supporting young people who are advocating for mental wellness amongst their peers.
Bring Change to Mind (BC2M) activates and empowers people to end the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness. BC2M strives to create and advance innovative approaches and partnerships to start conversations around mental illness, share resources, and tell stories so everyone can thrive in a stigma-free world.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) envisions a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares. NAMI works to educate, support, advocate, listen and lead to improve the lives of people with mental illness and their loved ones.
Mustache May is a campaign led by Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski with support from his teammates. Giants grow their mustaches to spark conversations about prioritizing mental health. Mustache May T-Shirts are available for purchase, with partial proceeds benefiting longtime Giants community partner Heart & Armor, an organization focused on mental health and community support for veterans.
The Kevin Love Fund was established by Kevin Love to inspire people to live their healthiest lives by creating equity between mental and physical health. As an evidence-based organization, KLF focuses on research, education, and narrative change to break the stigma around mental health.
The Junior Giants strive to provide a supportive place for players, coaches, parents and volunteers to find support, encouragement and helpful tools for when things feel tough—on or off the field. Through a partnership with MLB and Crisis Text Line, Junior Giants offers a free, confidential resource for anyone who needs support. Wellness Together is a national non-profit organization that partners with schools and school districts to provide mental health services for K-12 students through a collaborative, integrated, and turn-key approach. Culturally competent Mental Health Specialists provide evidence-based interventions within each school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports. Wellness Together offers individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, family engagement, and social-emotional learning classroom presentations.
National Suicide Prevention (988)

The Giants recognize World Suicide Prevention Day by raising awareness for 988 - the national suicide and crisis lifeline - through a variety of initiatives each season. The Giants remain dedicated to increasing awareness and visibility of the 988 Lifeline to ensure that players, staff fans and greater MLB community had the access needed to all available resources. In addition, Giants players and coaches wear 988 armbands during their warmups on World Suicide Prevention Day.
