Twins announce plans for fourth annual organization-wide 'Week of Service' from May 7-14
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – Continuing to deliver upon an organization-wide commitment to build a better tomorrow, from the Twin Cities to the Dominican Republic and beyond, the Minnesota Twins and the club’s six minor league affiliates today announced plans for the fourth annual “Minnesota Twins Week of Service,” to be held from May 7-14.
The 2025 Week of Service will again involve players, coaches, clubhouse personnel and front office staff from the Twins and each of Minnesota’s minor league affiliates – including the organization’s Florida Complex and Dominican Republic Baseball Academy – volunteering in their respective local communities with partners of their choosing; the Twins will also make a donation to a nonprofit of each affiliate’s choice. Additionally, the Minnesota Twins Community Fund’s annual Nike RBI Glove Giveaway, in which thousands of free gloves are distributed to youth in Minneapolis and St. Paul, will take place within the Week of Service this year.
“The Minnesota Twins Week of Service reminds us that baseball is bigger than the game; it’s about showing up for our communities the same way they show up for us,” Twins President, Baseball & Business Operations Derek Falvey said. “From the Twin Cities to the Dominican Republic, the efforts happening this week across Twins Territory express something far deeper than a single event, they reflect who we are when the lights aren’t on at the ballpark. Whether we’re packing meals, rehabbing homes or visiting patients, these are opportunities to live out our values. This week isn’t about checking a box. It’s about continuing a tradition of care, rooted in the belief that we’re stronger when we act together with others in mind.”
Believed to be Major League Baseball’s first-ever coordinated effort of its kind across an entire organization when it debuted in 2022, the Minnesota Twins Week of Service continues leveraging strong relationships with nonprofit partners to create positive impact across Twins Territory.
