Twins Acquire Jonah Bride from Marlins

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have acquired infielder Jonah Bride from the Miami Marlins in exchange for cash considerations.

Bride, 29, was on the Marlins’ 2025 Opening Day roster as the team’s designated hitter and went 4-for-40 with two RBI, five walks and three runs scored in 12 games for Miami before being designated for release or assignment on April 15.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound infielder was originally selected by the Athletics on the 23rd round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft and has hit .222 (116-for-522) with 17 doubles, 12 home runs, 54 RBI, 65 walks, one stolen base, 59 runs scored and a .640 OPS in 181 career major league games for the Athletics (2022-23) and Miami (2024-25). A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bride has made major league appearances at first base (52 games), second base (35 games), third base (63 games) and designated hitter (33 games).

A corresponding 26- and 40-man roster move to make room for Bride will be made prior to Friday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
