Pittsburgh, Pa. — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to Saturday afternoon’s game against Pittsburgh at PNC Park:

Burger, 29, exited Friday night’s game at Pittsburgh with left side tightness following his plate appearance during the top of the 7th inning. Over 65 games spanning two separate stints with Texas this season (Opening Day-May 1, May 12-June 20), Burger has batted .220 (52-236) with 10 home runs, 13 doubles, and 29 RBI. He ranks among club leaders this season in doubles (2nd), extra-baes hits (T2nd, 23), RBI (4th), and total bases (4th, 95), while making a career-high 59 starts at first base this season to go along with 5 starts at designated hitter.

The 26-year-old Foscue, who is making his first appearance on the Rangers active roster in 2025, has slashed .259/.350/.468/.818 (53-205) with 10 home runs, 13 doubles, 37 RBI, and nearly as many walks (27) as strikeouts (32) in 53 minor league games this season spent primarily with Triple-A Round Rock (50 G). The infielder appeared in 3 games on rehab assignment with the Rangers’ Arizona Complex League affiliate (ACL), from May 30-June 2, after he was placed on the 7-day Injured List on May 17 (minor left hamstring strain). Foscue has made starts defensively this season at second base (28), first base (17), and designated hitter (7).

A former first-round selection (14th overall) by Texas in the 2020 MLB Draft, Foscue made his MLB debut for the Rangers over three stints in 2024, going 2-for-42 (.048) with a double and RBI. In five seasons in the Texas organization (2021-25), Foscue carries a career .275 batting average (409-1487) with 70 home runs and 289 RBI in 392 minor league games. He is currently rated as Texas’ no. 13 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.

With today’s transactions, the Rangers have 39 players on the club’s Major League roster, along with three players (Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
