Rangers Activate RHP Jacob Webb From 15-Day Injured List, Option RHP Caleb Boushley To Triple-A Round Rock
Kansas City, Mo. — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions prior to Thursday afternoon’s road trip finale against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium:
- Right-handed pitcher Jacob Webb activated from the 15-day Injured List.
- Right-handed pitcher Caleb Boushley optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
The 31-year-old Webb was on the 15-day Injured List from July 29-August 20 with back spasms. He made 3 appearances with Triple-A Round Rock on injury rehabilitation assignment over the past week: 1 R-ER/3.1 IP, opponents 3-for-13 with 3 singles, 1 BB, 4 SO. He last pitched on Tuesday at St. Paul (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R-ER, 1 BB, 1 HB, 20 pitches/12 strikes). Webb's last outing with Texas was on July 28 at Los Angeles-AL.
The veteran right-hander has gone 4-3 with a 3.75 ERA (20 ER/48.0 IP) over 42 relief appearances for Texas this season, his first with the club after signing a one-year free-agent contract covering the 2025 season on December 11, 2024. His 48.0 innings in 2025 still rank 3rd among Rangers relievers to only Hoby Milner (60.1 IP) and Shawn Armstrong (52.2 IP).
Boushley, 31, has no record with a 5.22 ERA (23 ER/39.2 IP) in 21 games/one start across five stints with Texas in 2025: April 8-27, May 1-14, May 18-June 22, July 11-31, August 17-20. He made his first career start in the Majors in yesterday’s 6-3 win at Kansas City, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits (1 HR) with 3 walks and one strikeout over 3.0 innings (68 pitches/36 strikes). Boushley has also pitched in 7 games/5 starts for Round Rock this year, going 1-1 with a 1.21 ERA.
With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with three players (Cody Bradford, Tyler Mahle, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
