Local High School All-Stars to Compete in Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup presented by Nike, June 16-18

Starting Monday, June 16, top high school softball players will compete in front of college scouts during the Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup presented by Nike, which begins on Monday, June 16, at the Phillies MLB Urban Youth Academy Softball Fields at FDR Park. All games are open to the public.

This 31-game tournament, recognized nationally as one of the finest softball tournaments for high school students, continues until Wednesday, June 18. For many players, the Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup presented by Nike has been a catalyst for scholarships and admission to the country’s top universities.

“We’re excited to welcome hundreds of All-Star softball players from the tri-state area to the 2025 Softball Carpenter Cup presented by Nike,” said Phillies Director of Youth Baseball and Softball Development Jon Joaquin. “We’re extremely proud of this tournament and look forward to watching these tremendous athletes compete for a championship title.”

In addition, all-star high school baseball players are getting the chance to compete in front of college and major league scouts via the Phillies Baseball Carpenter Cup presented by Nike, with the semi-final and championship games scheduled for Monday, June 16, and Tuesday, June 17, at Citizens Bank Park.

ABOUT THE PHILLIES MLB URBAN YOUTH ACADEMY

The multi-site Phillies MLB Urban Youth Academy is comprised of both outdoor and indoor facilities to provide free, year-round instruction to the more than 6,000 Phillies Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) players in Philadelphia. The Ryan Howard Training Center at the Marian Anderson Recreation Center in South Philadelphia is a 7,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art training center added to the existing recreation and includes four retractable batting cages similar to those at the Phillies minor league spring training site in Clearwater, Fla. The center also includes space for fitness training, educational and vocational programs. In addition to this facility, the academy consists of an outdoor location at FDR Park in South Philadelphia with two baseball fields (Dick Allen Field and Ashburn Field) and two softball fields.
