DODGERS SELECT CHUCKIE ROBINSON

LOS ANGELE**S –** The Los Angeles Dodgers have selected the contract of catcher Chuckie Robinson and placed catcher Dalton Rushing on the injured list with a right shin contusion. In order to make room on the roster, the Dodgers designated right-handed pitcher Matt Sauer for assignment.

Robinson, 30, was claimed on May 31 from the Los Angeles Angels. He played in 47 games for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets, batting .259 with four homers and 28 RBI. He made his Major League debut in 2022 with the Cincinnati Reds, playing 25 games and clubbing two homers and driving in five. He has been in the Majors parts of two seasons with the Reds and Chicago White Sox (2024), slashing .132/.170/.194 with two doubles and two homers. He has a .992 fielding percentage and is 12-for-48 in runners caught stealing. He was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in 21st round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Southern Mississippi.

Rushing, 24, left the game last night after fouling a ball off his right shin. He was batting .190 with three homers and 21 RBI in 45 games for Los Angeles. Prior to joining the big club, he batted .308 with five homers and 17 RBI in Triple-A Oklahoma City. He has been in the organization four seasons, clubbing 54 homers and driving in 185 runs with a .931 OPS in 264 minor league games. The 2024 Branch Rickey Minor League Player of the Year hit 26 homers and drove in 85 runs last season between Double-A and Triple-A. He was originally drafted in the second round of the 2022 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Louisville.
